Calling all artists!
We are still seeking submissions of works that depict the Turtle Dove and/or Passenger Pigeon. These will be exhibited in various locations across the UK.
Attention: Our next confirmed venue will be the Greenbank Pub in Easton, Bristol, over three weeks in April/May 2018. If you would like to be part of this, please get in touch.
All art will be for sale during the exhibitions culminating in a live auction with all funds raised going towards the conservation efforts of Turtle Doves.
Ideally, we are looking for pieces to be donated for maximum fund-raising capability. However, we fully understand that artists are giving their time and commitment, so we’re open to negotiate a commission rate.
The works can be of each species individually, both species on one piece, or as a pair of matching pieces.
Taking inspiration from:
- the birds' physical attributes such as colour, shape etc.
- their song;
- their different names around the world;
- references of them in other cultures, popular culture, history or literature.
- scientific conservation data, population, migration routes, statistics, etc.
Work may be in any kind of medium or discipline eg. Contemporary art, design, paintings, drawings, sculpture, poetry, performance art, music, film, etc.
If you'd like to get involved, just drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact us here and we will get in touch.
